Quang Binh, Ho Chi Minh city link to boost tourism development

(Quang Binh Portal) - The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Binh, the provincial Tourism Association and travel firms held a conference in HCM City on March 24 to promote tourism in the central province and seek investment in the sector. Attending the conference was Vice Chairman of the Provincial People"s Committee Tran Tien Dung; representatives of relevant departments, branches. The conference also drew participants from 250 tour operators, tourism organizations, hotels and resorts operators of Quang Binh province and Ho Chi Minh city.

At the conference, travel agencies operating in the central province of Quang Binh introduced about potentials and strengths of Quang Binh tourism, its obtained results in the 2014 and tasks as well as solutions in the forthcoming time. Accordingly, in 2014, Quang Binh welcomed 2.8 million travellers, nearly two times that of 2013. The Vietnam Records Organisation recently listed four tourism sites in Quang Binh among the top 50 must-see travel destinations in Vietnam, including Phong Nha Cave, Ngang Pass, Nhat Le Beach and Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park... Beside, with the opening of Son Doong Cave in 2013, Quang Binh was catapulted onto the bucket lists of travellers all over the world. Specialy, The New York Times named Quang Binh as one of the most attractive destinations in Asia and ranked it eighth out of the world’s 52 must-see sites for 2014.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Tien Dung revealed that Quang Binh plans to make tourism a primary economic sector, adding that local authorities will create favourable conditions for enterprises and tourism firms to invest in the locality. He noted Quang Binh’s tourism sector is struggling to develop infrastructure and train human resources.

Through the conference, Quang Binh hopes Ho Chi Minh city to share and exchange their experience to boost tourism cooperation, exploit each side’s advantages, develop new tourism products, join hands in promoting tours of each locality, aiming at attracting tourists and creating a regional tourism association.
