The event was attended by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tien Dung; representatives of related departments, the Association of Tourism and international travel enterprises from the provinces and cities of Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri, Nghe An and Hai Phong.

On the side of Chiang Mai (Thailand), there were Mr. Bootha Chailert, Chairman of the Association of Tourism of Chiang Mai province; Mrs. Napasorn Kakai – Director of the Office of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in Ho Chi Minh City together with representatives of the Thai Association of Tourism and the enterprises of Chiang Mai province.

The event is part of the Quang Binh tourism program in 2017. The conference was jointly held by the People's Committee of Quang Binh province and the authority of Chiang Mai province, aiming to boost tourism connectivity and cooperation between the enterprises from Chiang Mai and Quang Binh and the central provinces through the flight of Quang Binh - Chiang Mai.

This is the opportunity for the Thai Association of Tourism and the enterprises of Chiang Mai province to survey lcoal attractive destinations, contributing to bring Thai visitors to Quang Binh province in the coming time.

At the conference, a representative of Jetstar Pacific Airlines also provided more information on new air route of Donghoi - Chiang Mai and Chiang Mai - Donghoi, which will start on June 16th and officially sell tickets from March 30th.

Leader of the Association of Tourism and the tourism business enterprises from the two provinces of Quang Binh and Chiang Mai discussed some issues such as creating favorable conditions for the two sides' enterprises; exploitation of Donghoi - Chiang Mai air route; cooperation between travel companies to develop tourism products, etc.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stressed that the conference on tourism product promotion and development base on the flight between Quang Binh (Vietnam) and Chiang Mai (Thailand) aimed to promote tourism connectivity and development of the two localities. This is an opportunity for Quang Binh province and Chiang Mai province to popularise tourism products, link tours and attractive destinations, meeting the demand of tourists, he said.

Earlier, the delegation of the Association of Tourism of Chiang Mai province also paid visit to some tourist sites in Donghoi city.
