454,698 tourists flock to Quang Binh in first half of 2011
Concretely, Quang Binh received about 454,698 tourists in the first six months, up 11.3%, of which domestic tourists were estimated to reach 396,643 people, up 11.58%. The total revenues from tourism achieved 192,755 million VND, up 11.59% as against the same period last year.
With high potentials of tourism like a coastal line of 116 km and many beautiful landscapes from the nature, especially the world natural heritage Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, the number of tourists to Quang Binh is more and more increasing. Some tourist sites like Thien Duong Cave, Phong Nha Cave, Mooc Spring, Bao Ninh beach, Nhat Le beach and Ly Hoa beach are ideal destinations for domestic tourists to Quang Binh on weekends or great holidays.
In the first half, the province had 182 dwelling establishments with 2,760 rooms. The number of dwelling establishments has been increased; and the quality of hotels and guest houses has been improved step by step.

Beside, tourism sector of Quang Binh province has also paid attention to tourism promotion with a wide range of activities like participatingin the 7th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival - 2011 with the theme named "Quang Binh - an attractive, unique and hospitable destination", aiming at introducing about tourism products of Quang Binh to foreign and domestic tourists; shooting film to publicize the potentials of tourism in Quang Binh; building and publishing the publications of tourism; organizing promotion tours and services, and discount programs; carrying out the survey of new tours like Ban Doong - Rao Thuong - Hang En; especially launching the Quang Binh Culture and Tourism Week 2011 held in early June with a series of cultural activities, including the opening of new tour of Chay river - Toi cave; the opening of sea tourism season and the inauguration of Bao Ninh Sea Square; the organization of cuisine program, "mua bong, cheo can" festival and musical performances, especially the program "General Vo Nguyen Giap and the symphony of Dien Bien" which lured a large number of tourists to Quang Binh.
From obtained results in the first half, it is believed that tourism activity in Quang Binh will be more and more eventful and will be expected to reach 873,000 tourists to Quang Binh in the coming time and revenue from tourism will reach VND411 billion in 2011.
