Dark Cave – a miniature version of Son Doong Cave
According to Director of the Phong Nha – Ke Bang Tourism Centre Le Thanh Loi, Toi Cave is not as big as Son Doong Cave, but its natural features are as valuable as a miniature version of Son Doong Cave – the world’s largest cave in Quang Binh.
The two-day and one-night tour includes traveling through the forest and exploring Sinh Ton (Survival) Valley, E Cave and Thuy Cung (Aquarium palace) Cave while crossing through the 6-kilometre Toi Cave. These are attractive destinations that visitors should not miss when coming to Phong Nha – Ke Bang.
The tour begins with the exploration of E Cave, which is deeply located in the Park’s thick forest and covered by a unique stalactite system. Visitors have the option of swimming in the cool river inside the cave.
The next stop is Sinh Ton Valley, as a part of the Phong Nha – Ke Bang region. Sinh Ton Valley is well-known for its ancient trees, strange flowers, colourful mushrooms and unique flora and fauna such as monkeys and multi-coloured butterflies.
After trekking in the forest, visitors will arrive at Thuy Cung Cavem which is the back gate of Toi Cave. Here, visitors will set up tents, have dinner, take a rest and experience an exciting night in the forest with games and art performances.
On the second day, visitors will cross through 6 kilometres of Toi Cave. With necessary equipment, especially a lighting system, visitors will admire the breathtaking scenery of the cave with its long-wide underground river segments and spectacular stalagmites.
In addition, visitors also take a mud-bath and observe the magnificent fossils dating back millions years before leaving the gate of Toi Cave. In the system of caves in Phong Nha – Ke Bang region, only Toi Cave in Phong Nha-Ke Bang boasts these unique features.
After successfully exploring Toi Cave, visitors can enjoy a quiet space of the poetic Chay River or join in underwater adventure games, take on a thrilling zip-line and taste traditional Vietnamese dishes.
