At the meeting; departments, agencies, localities and businesses focused on assessing the situation and results of tourism activities in the province in the first 9 months of 2019, and frankly stated their shortcomings, limitations and causes. In addition to a number of objective reasons, the delegates pointed out the subjective causes affecting the growth and development of tourism in Quang Binh in the past time: There were a few tourism products; tourism products to reduce seasonality were not invested; there was a shortage of entertainment areas and shopping centers; tourism human resources didn’t meet the requirements; the budget for tourism development was limited so it wasn’t able to implement programs of tourism propaganda, advertising and promotion in international markets...

In order to grow and develop tourism in the low season, the Department of Tourism also proposed a number of basic solutions for participants to discuss such as: Deploying tourism stimulus program for people between 2019 and 2020; organizing programs to welcome new year to serve tourists ; boosting the tourism growth by air; licensing for exploiting the tourism product "Conquering Son Doong"; completing the organization structure to raise the effectiveness of State management for tourism; developing river, sea, island, and border tourism; completing the system of technical infrastructure; the mechanism of development assistance for businesses...

At the meeting, Mr. Tran Cong Thuat, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, praised the efforts of enterprises, agencies and localities contributing to the development of tourism in the province in the past time. His speech emphasized the importance of tourism development. It is considered as one of the key economic programs that Quang Binh is focusing on implementing to bring into its potentials, strengths; and promoting socio-economic development. Accordingly, on the basis of delegates’ opinions at this meeting, the Provincial People's Committee will study, review and direct the related agencies and localities to effectively deploy and carry out the advertising, promotion, diversification of tourism products; and improve tourism business activities’ effectiveness in the province in the coming time. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee basically agreed with a number of solutions proposed by the Department of Tourism to grow and develop domestic tourism in the low season.
