International visitors to Quang Binh increase nearly 53%

(Quang Binh Website) - In the first six months of 2013, the province welcomed 542,168 visitors, a 4.4% increase against the same period last year, of which international visitor reached 17,046, increased by 52.6%.

Remarkably, a number of overnight stays by international visitors reached 13,860, increased by 51.5% against the same period last year. Tourism turnovers were estimated at reaching VND455 billion, increased by 28% against the same period.

In order to achieve above results, the province has strengthened tourism promotion and spread cave tourism to foreign and domestic visitors, especially Phong Nha Cave and Son Doong Cave.

In addition, the province has also opened new tourism routes such as Sinh Ton valley - Hang Thuy Cung, Rao Thuong - Hang En and Chay River - Dark Cave, and organized a series of activities to respond to Dong Hoi Culture - Tourism Week 2013 and Quang Binh Cave Festival 2013.

It showed that the province's tourism sector has a great attraction to international visitors; dwelling establishments pay more attention in infrastructure investment and improving service quality.
