Approve adventure tour project to Tu Lan cave system

(Quang Binh Website) - The provincial People’s Committee on November 14 held a meeting to approve adventure tour project to Tu Lan cave system in Minh Hoa district. Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Tien Dung presided over the meeting.

The Tu Lan Cave System is located in Minh Hoa District, Quang Binh Province. This is a Karst center of 200ha next to Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. It consists of eight beautiful caves, namely Hang Song Oxalis, Hang Uoi, Hang Chuot, Hang Hung Ton, Hang Kim, Hang Tu Lan, Hang Ken and Hang To Mo. This cave system is now open for tourists and managed by Oxalis Company Limited, a specialist caving and jungle trekking company.

The opening of adventure tours exploring Tu Lan cave system aims to diversify various forms of tourism, thus meeting the demand of visitors on exploring natural values and culture of Quang Binh province.

In addition, tourism tour is also to increase source of income for businesses and create jobs for local people.

Under the project, there are four options for adventure tour to Tu Lan cave system. The one-day tour is designed for the tourist who would like to explore nature, the jungle, and untouched caves but with limited time, bring you unique caving and trekking experiences. The 2 days and 1 night tour is designed for tourist to be able to visit the main passage of Tu Lan caves system, explore the beautiful valleys, jungle and caves. The 3 days and 2 nights tour is the best option for cavers and experiences trekkers and the 4 days and 3 night trek is designed for people with previous trekking experience.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Tran Tien Dung highly appreciated adventure tour project to Tu Lan cave system. He asked relevant departments and branches to create favorable conditions for the Oxalis Company Limited to quickly implement the project, saying that the Company must comply with regulations on environmental protection and safety for tourists; keep this cave system totally natural, no construction and housing will be built in this area; and make full use of human resource in the locality.
