EU project handovers its technical outcomes for four north central provinces

 (Quang Binh Portal) - The EU-funded Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism Capacity Development Program (EU-ESRT) on September 14th in Nghe An handovered its technical supportive outcomes for the four north central localities, including Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe Anh and Thanh Hoa. Earlier, the EU-ESRT collaborated with working groups from the three to complete the brand’s logo and slogan, advisement and tourism website.

The meeting was attended by representative of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), leaders of tourism sector and tourism association, the vocational training school of tourism and tourism enterprises from the four provinces together with experts of EU project.

Accordingly, the management board of EU-ESRT project transferred its supportive outcomes for the four localities to apply in sustainable and responsible tourism management and development.

Earlier, on February 26th, in Donghoi city, the four north ventral provinces, including Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An and Thanh Hoa signed an agreement on tourism devleopment and cooperation to effectively exploit potentials of each locality and promote the growth of sustainable tourism in the region through the programmes and plans on local tourism development in association with the general agreement on tourism development cooperation of the four provinces.

In 2016, EU-ESRT project has supported responsible tourism development in the four north ventral provinces through five groups of operation, including: strengthening management of destinations; strategy and action plan for destination management; product connection; tourist map and principles of responsible tourism behaviours and suppporting human resources.

At the meeting, representatives of tourism sectors from the four provinces expressed their hope that the north central provinces would continue upholding obtained results in the past time, gradually bringing the tourism industry in the region to become an outstanding destination in the Southeast Asia.

The project will be carried out in November of 2016.
