Chiang Mai - Dong Hoi first international fight welcomed

(Quang Binh Portal) - The Department of Tourism in coordination with Jetstar Pacific Airlines on August 11th officially launched the first international flight between Chiang Mai (Thailand) and Dong Hoi (Quang Binh). This is the first international flight in Quang Binh and it is also the first direct service from Vietnam to Chiang Mai in northern Thailand.

The first flight No.BL430 departs at Chiang Mai airport on 19:40, carrying a delegation of tourists from Thailand to Vietnam

The first flight from Dong Hoi airport to Chiang Mai carried nearly 180 passengers while the return flight had more than 150 travellers on board.

According to Jetstar Pacific, nearly 5,000 tickets on the route have been booked. In the initial period, the airline will operate two two-way flights on the route each week, on Monday and Friday, using the 180-seat Airbus A320.

The Quang Binh-Chiang Mai flight takes only 1 hour and 40 minutes, compared to two days if travelling by car.

Tickets are officially sold on the Jetstar's website at address: www.jetstar.com and at official ticket offices and agencies nationwide.

On the occasion of the launch of the new international route, Jestart Pacific offered promotional air fares at only 410,000 VND per leg, along with other promotions.

The service’s launch is part of the cooperation agreement between the airline and Quang Binh’s authorities aiming at serving increasing travelling demand and stimulating tourism growth in Vietnam’s central region and Thailand’s northern localities.
