Quang Binh promotes tourism in Chiang Mai

 (Quang Binh Portal) - In the framework of ASEAN Tourism Forum 2018 (ATF 2018), the Quang Binh Department of Tourism in coordination with the Association of Tourism of Chiang Mai province had a talk show to popularise Quang Binh"s tourism and the international air route between Dong Hoi - Chiang Mai in Movenpick Suriwongse Hotel on January 23.

 The event was attended by representatives of the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism, the Travel Department, the International Cooperation Department, media agenices in Chiang Mai and more than 100 delegates representing for foreigners who are living and working in Chiang Mai.

The program introduced and provided information on the policy to attract tourists, products, services and destinations to meet the demands of Thailand tourists. Especially, the tourism business enterprises also promoted tourism products and services such as Truong Thinh Tourism One-member Company with Thien Duong Cave and Sun Spa Resort; Jetstar Pacific Airlines with the low-cost flight from Dong Hoi - Chiang Mai and vice versa.

In addition, some questions on procedures for immigration, price policy for travel companies in Chiang Mai were also answered by representatives of related units.

In the joyful atmosphere of the talk show, Mrs Holly Richter from Indigo White Travel Company shared her feelings and exciting experiences while travelling to Quang Binh. Participants were aslo excited when watching videos and information on destinations in Quang Binh.

Speaking at the program, Deputy Director of Quang Binh Tourism Department Le The Luc stressed that it created a good chance for Quang Binh to introduce its culture and strengths to draw more domestic and international visitors via Chiang Mai.

He believed that with the concentration on improving the quality of services, Quang Binh will increasingly meet the demand of Thai tourists in general and tourists from Chiang Mai in particular. Particular, the launch of the air route from Dong Hoi to Chiang Mai will contribute to boosting the exchange of travellers between the two sides in the coming time.

Flights between Dong Hoi and Chiang Mai were operated by Jetstar Pacific from August 11th, 2017 in order to connect the central region of Viet Nam to the North of Thailand, to contribute to serving the travel demand of tourists and people.

The air route has two flights a week on Monday and Friday by Airbus A320 aircraft with 180 economy seats. The flying duration is 1 hours 40 minutes.

Quang Binh boasts rich tourism resources in Viet Nam and Southeast Asia. It is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park and the world’s largest cave Son Doong.

The province also has the longest coastline in Viet Nam with beautiful beaches and special seafood dishes, and it is chosen as one of the filming destinations of the movie “Kong: Skull Island” – which is expected to bring great benefits to the local tourism.

It is preserving valuable tangible and intangible cultural values such as “ca tru” (ceremonial singing), and “ho khoan” (a genre of Vietnamese folk music in Le Thuy district).
