Delegates cutting a ribbon to inaugurate Dong Hoi – Da Nang flight route.

Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Tran Tien Dung, Provincial Commissioner, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of related departments and sectors.

The flight route between Dong Hoi and Da Nang will be put into operation by Hai Au Aviation on Thursday and Sunday, it is currently the only provider of direct flights between these two destinations. Guests will enjoy a 70-minute flight on the Cessna Grand Caravan craft instead of taking a 6 hour train ride or a 7-hour bus ride as before.

Guests will not only save time but aslo enjoy the most beautiful landscapes of the central coastal region of Vietnam including Son Tra peninsula, Hai Van pass winding its way through the Truong Son mountain range, Lang Co beach or Tam Giang lagoon with the length of 24 kilometres merged by the three rivers before pouring into the sea.

Historical enthusiasts will be also pleased with flights across the 17th Parallel separating North and South Vietnam; and the sacred Dong Hoi Citadel where imprinted with historical vestiges in the war against France.

Ranked in the list of top destinations, Da Nang has drawn international visitors’ attention and appreciation in the recent years. In contrast, Dong Hoi is quiet and gentle; and the gateway to Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park World Natural Heritage where has primitive tropical forests, a system of caves and complex underground rivers including Son Doong - the largest natural cave recognised by UNESCO.

The flights will be exploited by Cessna Grand Caravan 208 B-EX aircraft with its capacity of 12 seats for passengers which is one of the safest single-engine aircrafts in the world nowadays.
