PNKB National Park welcomes 548,000 visitors in eight months of 2015

(Quang Binh Portal) – According to the report of the Management Board of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, in the first eight months of 2015, there were 548,736 visitors to the world’s natural heritage site, Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, of which international arrivals were 58,551 tourists (rose by 3.8% compared to the same period last year), domestic arrivals were 449,383 tourists (fell by 32.9% from the same period last year); its total revenues was estimated to reach VND142.64 billion.

Concretely, Phong Nha – Ke Bang Tourism Centre received 331,570 tourists to destinations such as Phong Nha – Tien Son Cave, Mooc Water Spring, Chay River – Toi Cave, Tam Co Cave and others.

The Management Board of the Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park in coordination with Oxalis Adventure Tours welcomed 2,468 tourists to tourism routes such as Son Doong Cave, Rao Thuong – En Cave and Va – Nuoc Nut Cave, a 154.2% increase from the same period last year.

It is known that tour of exploring Son Doong Cave in 2015 closed in early September, tour of Rao Thuong – En Cave will also end in late September. Closing tours in the last months of the year is to restore ecological system, conserve biodiversity and protect environment inside the caves. Besides, it is also to ensure safety for visitors because the water level could rise over 90 metres inside the cave.

In August of 2015, there were 214,698 tourists to ecological tourism site of Thien Duong (Paradise) Cave and 2,278 tourist to the botanical gardens.
