Seven ambassadors to explore Son Doong Cave

(Quang Binh Portal) - The ambassadors from six countries to Vietnam and Assistant Secretary of State Tom Malinowski will join in adventurous tour of Son Doong Cave in the central province of Quang Binh from May 11th to the 17th.

The 7 ambassadors come from the Czech Republic, Argentina, Sweden, the UK, Italy, Australia and the US. This tour has also the participation of a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and Miss Duong Truong Thien Ly. All of them are looking forward to this experience. This is a good opportunity to promote Vietnam's beauty abroad and show foreigners what Vietnam is really like. The cost of Son Doong tour will be paid by the ambassadors.

In order to prepare for this 7-day trip, the ambassadors had to undergo a health check, and brush up on their adventure travel skills in order to explore the largest cave in the world.

It is reported that the People's Committee of Quang Binh province will hold a meeting to welcome the ambassadors, who will join in adventurous tour of Son Doong Cave, the world's largest cave on May 11th.

At present, the tour to Son Doong Cave is world-class, with a ticket price of up to 3,000 USD per person. Many tourists have to book several months or even a year in advance to enjoy the beauty of this spectacular cave. In 2015, Son Doong Cave welcomed 504 tourists explored the destination.

Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, Director, Department of External Culture and UNESCO, Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the ambassadors are the best bridge to promote the beauty of Son Doong to their countries and their people.

Earlier, on May 6th, the Secretary Board of Viet Nam National Commission for UNESCO and the Oxalis Comapny held a party to meet participants who explore Son Doong Cave tour from May 11th - 17th, 2016.
