The project of the establishment of the Khe Net Natural Reserve and scientific basis for the supplementation of the planning of the Khe Nuoc Trong Natural Reserve is invested by the Quang Binh Forest Management Agency and designed by the Center for Resources and Forest Environment – the Forest Planning and Inspection Institute.

The Khe Net Natural Reserve has an area of 26,814.9 ha and is located in the southwest of Quang Binh province, covering five communes namely Huong Hoa, Kim Hoa, Thuan Hoa, Thanh Hoa and Lam Hoa (Tuyen Hoa district). This is one of forests having a high conservation value with 841 species of high-grade plants and 282 species of terrestrial vertebrate animals, of which 42 precious and rare species of plants and 60 species of animals are living under the threat at national and global levels.

The Khe Nuoc Trong Natural Reserve, located in Kim Thuy commune, Le Thuy district, is one of natural reserves that have a high value of biodiversity with 987 species of high-grade plants and 227 species of terrestrial vertebrate animals. This reserve consists of a primeval tropical forest, bordering with the Viet-Laos border and the Bac Huong Hoa Natural Reserve (Quang Tri province).
Addressing the meeting, Vice-chairman Nguyen Dang agreed on the name, scale, figures and structure of the project of the establishment of the Khe Net Natural Reserve and scientific basis for the supplementation of the planning of the Khe Nuoc Trong Natural Reserve and asked the investor in coordination with the consultative unit to adjust and complete the above projects before submitting to the Provincial People’s Committee for approval.
