Son Doong Cave welcomes first foreign tourist group

(Quang Binh Website) - Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Quang Binh Province Tran Tien Dung, on August 6 welcomed a first foreign tourist group after they successfully conquered an exploration tour of the Son Doong Cave in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park.

Vice Chairman Tran Tien Dung awarded certificates to the six foreign tourists who have successfully conquered Son Doong Cave

The exploration tour was designed by the Oxalis Travel Company and the Management Board of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park under the permission of the People’s Committee of Quang Binh province.

This is the first tourist group to have successfully conquered Son Doong Cave - the world’s largest cave. The tourist group comprised of six members from USA, Russia, Australia, United Kingdom and Norway under the guidance of cave expert Howard Limbert and with the support of 16 local porters.

After spending seven days and six nights inside the cave, the foreign tourist group returned to Son Trach Commune.

Reportedly, the cost for this adventure tour is $3,000/person.

On behalf of leaders of Quang Binh province, Vice Chairman Tran Tien Dung awarded certificates to the six foreign tourists and affirmed that Son Doong Cave would be an attractive destination for foreign and domestic tourists.
