During the 2011-2013 period, the total number of tourists to Quang Binh was estimated to reach 3,208,086, an average increase of over 11% per year, of which there was 86,636 international arrivals. Especially in 2012, this was the first time Quang Binh tourism received the one-millionth tourist. Tourism turnover hit over VND 2,923 billion, contributing over VND145 billion to the budget. Tourism infrastructure has developed strongly. Up to now, the whole province has 236 accommodation facilities, of which there are 04 four-star hotels and three-star ones.

In additional, tourism promotion activities have seen many positive changes, attracting a large number of foreign and domestic visitors to the province.

At the meeting, delegates discussed tourism development plan of Quang Binh province in the 2014-2015 period, with a focus on strengthening tourism popularization, training human resource for tourism, improving the quality of tourism services, diversifying tourist products and attracting investment in tourism development.

Delivering the meeting, Head of the provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee highly evaluated obtained results of tourism sector in the past time. He stressed that 2014 is considered a key year of the province. It marks a series of important events, including the 410th anniversary of establishment and 25th anniversary of reestablishment of the province, and 55 days of opening Truong Son Road.

Vice Chairman Tran Tien Dung also asked the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism and relevant departments to collect contributions and quickly complete the tourism development plan of Quang Binh province in the period of 2014-2015.
