(Quang Binh Portal) - In order to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification (April 30, 1975), the “Tu Lan Adventure Race” competition is set to take place between April 28 and May 1 to challenge nature lovers to adventurous games in Tu Lan rainforest and cave system in Quang Binh province.

The goal of competition is to spread tourist destinations of Quang Binh to foreign and domestic travelers and raise funds to rebuild libraries for two primary schools in Tan Hoa commune.

The Tu Lan Adventure Race” competition will include 50 participants competing on a series of challenging activities, such as paddling dugout canoes up the Rao Nan River in Cao Quang commune, climbing through the Hang Tien Cave and Hang Chuot Cave as well as trekking across a wild jungle located between Cao Quang commune (Tuyen Hoa district) and Tan Hoa commune (Minh Hoa district).

The organizing board will provide a 80 million VND grant from part of the event budget to rebuild libraries for two primary schools which were swept away by the flood waters in 2010 in Tan Hoa commune (Minh Hoa district).

The province plans to make it an annual non-profit event, drawing participants from around the world to promote local tourism and financially support schools in mountainous areas.

Located in Tan Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district of Quang Binh province, the Tu Lan cave system includes over 10 beautiful caves spreading through valleys covered with primary forests and rivers. Magnificent stalagmites and stalactites inside the cave, together with small waterfalls and underground rivers, make Tu Lan become a unique and ideal destination for nature lovers.
