The conference was attended by Mr. Tran Tien Dung, Vice Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, Deputy General Director of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and 200 delegtes from travel agents, restaurants, hotels, and tourism sites of Ha Hoi and Quang Binh.

The event is to provide information in details about tourism products and tourism services, seek ways to fully tap tourism potential in Quang Binh, create conditions for travel agents from Quang Binh and Ha Noi to meet, share experience and promote tourism cooperation in the furture as well as call upon foreign and domestic enterprises to invest in tourism infrastructures of the province.

At the conference, a representative of the Quang Binh Provincial Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism briefly introduced on advantages and tourism products such as cave tourism, ecotourism, sea tourism, spiritual tourism to Vung Chua – Dao Yen and General Vo Nguyen Giap’s final resting place.

Besides, the province is also developing homestay and farmstay tourism to help tourists experience the province’s scenic nature, hospitable people and tribal culture, said he.

Some delegates said that the province should design various tours suitable for groups from all over the world from the European Union to East Asian countries.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People’s Committee affirmed the province’s determination to develop tourism into one of key economic industry of the province.

Vice Chairman also expressed his thank to international and domestic travel agents for assisstance to the province’s tourism industry and hoped that VNAT, Ha Noi tourism industry and travel agents would continue providing a support and strengthening cooperation for the development of Quang Binh tourism industry.

One of Quang Binh’s weaknesses is the lack of accommodations due to a limited number of hotels and guesthouses, said Vice Chairman.

Earlier, a meeting was held in Ha Noi on April 22 to exchange views on cooperation management and development of culture, sport and tourism between the Departments of Culture, Sport and Tourism of Quang Binh and Ha Noi.

Boasting a long coastline riddled with reaches, historic and spiritual sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site – the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, in 2014, Quang Binh welcomed 2.7 million visitors, up nearly 100%, 60% of which were internaltional tourists, a 26% increase compared to the same period last year.
