The event was attended by Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director General of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism; representatives of the Quang Binh Department of Tourism and the Hanoi Department of Tourism together with related agencies and units and hundreds of tourism business enterprises from Hanoi and Quang Binh.

At the conference, the participants were introduced on potential, strength and new tourism products of Quang Binh and Hanoi, policies to attract investment, tourism stimulus programmes in 2017 and some activities to promote investment such as the opening of Quang Binh - Chieng Mai (Thailand) air route and Quang Binh - Cat Bi (Hai Phong) air route; the project of Pullman Hotel in Quang Binh, etc.

Besides, the conference also shared information and promoted tourism connectivity between the enterprises, travel agencies and investors from Quang Binh, Hanoi and the northern provinces.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee stressed that Quang Binh considers tourism as a spearhead economic sector. The province approved the Action Programme No.06-CTr/TU on tourism development in the 2016-2020 period and the Plan No.1503/KH-UBND dated September 13rd, 2016 concretizing and mobilizing resources for tourism development. In the 2011-2016 period, Quang Binh tourism welcomed over 13.2 million tourists, the average annual growth rate achieved over 25%.

The Quang Binh - Hanoi tourism promotion and connectivity conference is part of a series of activities to lure visitors and investors to Quang Binh.

This is a good opportunity for the enterprises to meet and share information, exchange products and sign contracts to lure tourists to Quang Binh as well as attract more investment, aiming to exploit potential and strength of Quang Binh tourism.

Signing cooperative agreement between the Quang Binh Tourism Association and Hanoi Tourism Association

Then, representatives of enterprises and trave agencies from Quang Binh and Hanoi exchanged and signed an agreement on tourism cooperation and development in the 2017-2020 period; cooperative agreement between the two tourism associations; the Quang Binh tourism promotion and information center and the UNESCO Hanoi Travel Club.

On this occasion, a series of activities and events are organised to provide a platform for travel operators in Ha Noi and Quang Binh to network and attract more investment from the capital city into the province’s tourism sector, including an art programme named "Quang Binh in songs", a photo exhibition named "Quang Binh – Most Attractive Destination in Asia|, a performance of traditional folk songs, and a marketing programme, Quang Binh – Kingdom of world caves.

The central province of Quang Binh boasts the most special tourism resources in the country and the Southeast Asian region, most notably the Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, twice recognised by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage thanks to its geological, geo-morphological, biodiversity and aesthetic values. It is also the first heritage site in the region to meet three of four criteria set for the status.

The locality is also endowed with the longest coastline with a number of pristine, crystal-clear, sandy beaches, and a variety of culinary specialties.

Quang Binh is ranked 8th in list of 52 worth-visiting destinations in the world. It expects to welcome three million tourists in 2017.
