Meeting to promote Quang Binh tourism in Ha Noi

(Quang Binh Website) - The Quang Binh provincial Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism held a meeting in Ha Noi on December 13 to introduce and popularize Quang Binh tourism destinations.

The event was attended by Deputy General Director of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) Nguyen Manh Cuong, representatives of Vietnam Tourism Association, Ha Noi Touirsm Association and Quang Binh Association of fellow-countrymen in Ha Noi and more than 160 travel agencies in Hanoi.

This was an opportunity for Quang Binh tourism to introduce about its tourism potential and destinations, aiming to lure more visitors to Quang Binh and seek investment cooperation in tourism between Quang Binh and Hanoi in particular, Quang Binh and Northern provinces in general.

From early year to now, Quang Binh has welcomed more than 1,200,000 tourists, an increase of 15 percent compared to the same period last year. Of which, international tourists to Quang Binh has reached 36,700, an increase of 23 percent against the same period last year (9% beyond all expectations). Total revenues from tourism has reached more than VND1,200 billion, an increase of 138 percent compared to last year. In 2014, Quang Binh tourism expects to welcome 1,300,000 tourists, of which 40,000 international tourists and revenues from tourism expects to reach VND1,300 billion, according to Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism of Quang Binh province Nguyen Van Ky.

At the meeting, Quang Binh introduced tours around caves in Phong Nha – Ke Bang, particularly those to Son Doong – the largest cave in the world and boasted spectacular natural landscapes with Nhat Le, Quang Phu, Bao Ninh and Da Nhay beaches and Bang mineral hot spring - the only of its kind in Vietnam with the temperature of outflow water at 105 degree Celsius.

Additionally, the commemorative house of late General Vo Nguyen Giap in Le Thuy district and his last resting place in Bo Trach district are also remarkable destinations for people from all corners of Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy General Director of VNAT Nguyen Manh Cuong said that with its tourism potential, Quang Binh needs to mobilize all resources to improve tourism infrastructure and open new tours and routes to make an impression on visitors to Quang Binh.
