54,000 visitors flock to Phong Nha - Ke Bang during five-day holiday

(Quang Binh Website) - According to report of the Department of Planning and Investment, the number of tourists to Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park reached nearly 54,000 during the five-day holiday from April 30 to May 4, a year-on-year increase of 250%, of which there were about 10,000 international arrivals, accounting for over 20%. The number of visitors to General Vo Nguyen Giap's grave was estimated at about 90,000.


Tourists visit Thien Duong Cave

The number of tourists to Quang Binh in April was estimated to reaching 311.100, a rise of 149 percent over the same period last year. The result has pushed the total number of tourists in the first four months of this year to 1.1 million, a rise of 147.6% over the same period last year. Of which, foreign tourists were estimated to reaching 12.800, increased 11.8% against the same period last year.

Especially, the number of visitors staying overnight in the first four months of 2014 reached 267.400, increased 3.2%; tourists reached 146.800, increased 8.1%, of which foreign tourists reached 10.600, increased 9.7% against the same period last year.

Total earnings from hotels, restaurants and tourism in April hit VND129.6 billion, up 21.1% over the same period last year, in four months of this year reached VND483.6 billion, up 21.2% against the same period last year. Of which, earnings from hotels reached VND42.6 billion, up 4.3%, from restaurants VND421.9 billion, up 22.8%, and from tourism VND19.1 billion, up 30.4% over the same period last year.
