Workshop to associate travel agents with traditional craft villages

(Quang Binh Website) - The Management Board of Greater Mekong Subregion Sustainble Tourism Development Project on December 18 held a workshop to associate travel agents with traditional craft villages and local products. The event was attended by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Tien Dung and representatives of relevant agencies and localities in the province.

At the workshop, participants spent much time discussing and evaluating real situation of tourism sector and contributing a lot of ideas to consolidate connection between travel agents and traditional craft villages and local products, aiming to expand market, diversify tourist products and better meet the increasing demand of tourists.

In addition, the workshop also exchanged experience in travel business and connection travel agents and traditional craft villages; role of tourism in the process of socio-economic development and policies for tourism development of the province. 

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee acknowledged great contributions of travel agents to tourism sector of the province.

Quang Binh is famous for tourism destinations, including Phong Nha - Ke Bang - world natural heritage, Bang hot mineral spring, Da Nhay - Ly Hoa and historical relics of Cu Nam, Canh Duong, Cha Lo, Tam Co and Vung Chua - Dao Yen, Vice Chairman Dung stressed.

In order to make full use of valuable resources for tourism, Vice Chairman asked travel agents to strengthen connection between travel agents and traditional craft villages, aiming to create a sound tourism environment; research to restore traditional craft villages and develop local tourist products.
