Nearly 3,000 thousands pay respect to the General on Dien Bien Phu anniversary

(Quang Binh Website) - In the exciting atmosphere of the 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, thousands of people across the country paid a visit and offered incense in tribute to General Vo Nguyen Giap at Vung Chua - Dao Yen area in Quang Dong commue, Quang Trach district on the morning of May 7.


Provincial delegation led by Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party’s Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assemble Delegation Hoang Dang Quang offer incense at the grave of General Vo Nguyen Giap

Lieutenant Khac Ngoc Tan Hao, head of the guard team at General Vo Nguyen Giap’s grave in Vung Chua, Quang Trach district, said that between April 30 and May 7, over 95,000 people visited the General’s grave in the Vung Chua – Dao Yen area of the province. Alone on the morning of May 7, more than 300 groups of pilgrims from across the country paid a visit to the General’s grave in tribute to the eldest brother of the Vietnam People’s Army and an eminent person of the nation.


Veterans are present in the early morning to pay respect to the General

During these days, the provincial Border Guards High Command has dispatched more personnel to ensure security in the area, while civil forces have been present at several spots to guide visitors.


Thousands of people offer flowers and incense at the General’s grave

On the Dien Bien Phu Victory’s 60th anniversary, VTV4 channel and Vietnam Television live broadcast images of incense-offering ceremony at the General Vo Nguyen Giap’s final resting place in Vung Chua area at 6 a.m and 12 a.m on May 7, 2014.
