In the first quarter of 2017, tourists to Quang Binh were estimated to reach 608,434 arrivals, reached 96.88% compared to the same period last year, including 10,927 foreigners, increased by 8.84% from the same period.

Total tourism revenues were an estimation of VND630 billion, equivalent to the same period last year. Room occupancy rate reached nearly 90% at the luxury hotels from three stars and over on the Liberration Day (April 30) and Labor Day (May 1) holidays.

Attractive destinations in Quang Binh currently see a large number of tourists at Nhat Le and Bao Ninh beaches and Phong Nha - Ke Bang region with tours of "Discovery of Hamada Valley - Tra Ang Cave", "Discovery of Rao Thuong - En Cave", "Phong Nha Cave - discovery of mysterious depth", "Chay River - Dark Cave", Mooc Spring - Dark Cave...

In order welcome tourists to Quang Binh this year, the Provincial Department of Tourism in coordination with the Provincial Department of Culture and Sport will organize the national beach volleyball tournament and sport activities on the beaches from April 20 - 23. The tourism sector also popularizes Quang Binh images to domestic and foreign friends on social networks with the participation of famous bloggers, Mr. Ho An Phong, Director of the Quang Binh Department of Tourism.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoai, Chairman of the Quang Binh People's Committee affirmed that Quang Binh tourism is considered as a spearhead economic sector of the province. In the past time, the province has focused on tourism popularization and promotion, contributing to attracting more tourists to Quang Binh.

In the first quarter of 2017, the province has successfully organized tourism promotion programmes and the two new air routes of Quang Binh - Chieng Mai and Dong Hoi (Quang Binh) - Cat Bi (Hai Phong). The province has directed all related departments and units to complete procedures for opening the Quang Binh - Chieng Mai international air route and launch Dong Hoi - Cat Bi domestic air route which is slated on April 29.

In particular, the province in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism, and the Ministry of Information and Communications successfully organized the tourism promotion program entitled "Quang Binh in the heart of Ha Noi", contributing to popularizing Quang Binh tourism and making a strong impression on visitors in Ha Noi and the northern provinces, helping attract a large number of tourists to Quang Binh in this year's tourism season.
